Understanding your Not-for-profit's Constitution
About this event
Getting to know your organisation’s constitution (or rules) is important for keeping things running smoothly in your not-for-profit. It's not just about good governance - it's also a legal requirement for both the organisation and its members follow these rules. But we know that diving into a constitution can feel a bit overwhelming at first. It’s common to find it hard to read or make sense of.
In this foundational webinar, we step you through the key parts of a not-for-profit's governing document. Using examples and cases, we give you the knowledge and confidence to understand and apply your constitution. We discuss why the governing document is so important and how using it can ensure members have confidence that your not-for-profit is not only compliant, but effective and well-run.
What participants have said:
- “I've previously done a couple of rounds of Governance training over the decades, and in comparison, this refresher was engaging, ie very well designed and delivered!”
- “I've done a metric ton of training in the past 45 years. This by far was one of the most engaging and well-paced of them.”
- “This helped so much with questions that I was trying to find answers to.”
- “I am relatively new to being on the committee of a not for profit and found this training very clear and instructive and I left feeling much more aware of the importance of the constitution and what is covered.”
- “Very clear and concise information, presented in a simple and easy to understand manner”
- “Informative - yet concise - these sometimes drag on - this one didn’t! Great examples too!”
