Meet Sophia
Sophia joined the Not-for-profit Law team in 2025. Before this, Sophia worked in the Victorian Public Service, where she provided legal and policy advice to support State government bodies achieve good governance. She began her legal career at the Victorian Government Solicitor’s Office, where she practised primarily in commercial law and public law, with a focus on the protection of Aboriginal cultural heritage.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Sophia worked for a public land manager, where she worked closely with not-for-profit groups to facilitate community use of public land, and undertook community consultation regarding proposals for public land use.
Sophia has previously volunteered at community legal centres and as a board member of a not-for-profit organisation in her community.
