About this event
Volunteers are vital in the journey from disaster to recovery. Not-for-profit organisations that engage volunteers need to understand their obligations in how to legally and safely recruit and manage their volunteers in good times and in bad.
In this webinar, you’ll get tips on how to best manage volunteers in disaster response, relief and recovery. The aim of this session is to help you better understand laws around volunteering so you can plan and prepare for managing volunteers during disasters.
We’ll cover:
- Navigating legal issues when engaging volunteers quickly
- Your organisation’s duty to keep volunteers and others safe
- Having the right insurance in place for your volunteers
You'll receive:
- Opportunity to ask questions of the presenter
- 75 minutes of plain-language training from a lawyer
- Copy of webinar recording (available for 30 days) and slide presentation
