Government tax concessions

One of the key benefits of being a charity, and also of being certain types of not-for-profits (that are not charities), is access to government tax concessions.

Understanding the shifting tax landscape for not-for-profits can be challenging. Watch our introductory video by clicking on the picture to the left for an outline of some common tax concessions and rebates that may be relevant to charities and not-for-profits.
Tax concessions can provide a range of benefits to both your organisation, in some cases your employees, and in the case of Deductible Gift Recipient Endorsement,  your donors.

Tax concessions are one of the most complex areas of law that charities and not-for-profits need to deal with. This topic sets out some of the common tax concessions available, and the processes for accessing these tax concessions.

Most tax concessions are federal, however each state also has some tax concessions for certain charities and not-for-profits.

You can view our recently recorded webinar on Tax Concessions for Not-for-profit Organisations for a longer introduction to the tax landscape.
