Justice Connect has made a submission to the NSW Department of Customer Service in response to the draft Community Gaming Regulation 2020 (NSW) (the Regulation). The Regulation supports the Community Gaming Act 2018 (CG Act), which will begin in mid-2020. The Regulation and CG Act will replace the existing Lotteries and Art Unions Act 1901 (NSW) and the Lotteries and Art Unions Regulation 2014 (NSW).
Our submission identifies opportunities for greater consistency in the regulation of not-for-profit organisations. In particular, we recommend adopting consistent definitions of ‘charity’ and ‘not-for-profit’. We also identify further opportunities for red tape reduction, especially regarding not-for-profit’s reporting obligations.
