NSW Fair Trading is undertaking a review of the new laws for incorporated associations that were introduced in 2009. Fair Trading has invited the State's 36,000 registered associations to have their say in an online survey.

The review is intended to assess the effectiveness of the Associations Incorporation Act 2009 (NSW), which governs the incorporation, management and reporting requirements for incorporated associations in NSW.

Fair Trading also undertook a 2013 review into governance structures for associations, seeking to strengthen governance arrangements for community organisations. NSW Fair Trading has stated findings from this previous review will be considered as part of the current review.

You can find more information on the review, and participate in the survey, at NSW Fair Trading
