We're standing alongside Hands Off Our Charities and the Law Council of Australia with our submission to the 'Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Amendment (2021 Measures No.2) Regulations 2021'.

We're concerned these changes could harm charities and community organisations, making it more confusing and complex to comply with the law.

These laws could bury charities in paperwork and expenses (which we call compliance burden) which are beyond what is expected of other sectors.

Our submission focussed primarily on the impact of these amendments on small-medium charities, because most cannot afford specialist legal advice, and may be disproportionally affected if these changes proceed.

Another key concern for us is the negative impact these overwhelming laws will have on the willingness of people to volunteer for charity boards.
